Become active now for the integration of flowering meadows!

PRESS RELEASE

Dhe online marketplace for certified nature conservation projects www.agora-natura.de offers a new project for support in the district of Osnabrück. A colourful flowering meadow is to be created on a field for one year. This will create a habitat for insects such as bees, bumblebees and butterflies among the many maize fields in the region. But other wild animals in the fields can also benefit from the flowering area planned for one hectare. Due to the proximity to the settlement area and the documentation with pictures, many people can experience the project. Crowdfunding via AgoraNatura helps to preserve biodiversity and to make nature's achievements tangible. Everyone can support the project with just one click from home!

Bad Laer, 07.12.2021

As prescribed at AgoraNatura, the new project was developed according to the Natureplus-Standard certified. This ensures that effective framework conditions for the promoted biodiversity and expected nature services are provided and that results are also regularly monitored during implementation.

The project is financed through so-called nature conservation certificates. Each certificate protects and develops 100 m² of the project area for one year. However, it will only be implemented when all nature conservation certificates have been financed by mid-February 2022. The project area can be visited on site at any time and information on the progress of the flowering diversity and the visiting insects is provided by means of pictures.

Flowering diversity instead of maize

The project is offered by the Kemnade dairy farm. Mrs Kemnade takes care of the experiential planting of the flowering meadow, takes care of the documentation and is available as a contact person for enquiries. Together with her husband, she has launched the initiative "Bluehvielfalt" (Blueh diversity) and already offers the opportunity to support flowering diversity instead of monotony on her own website. She wants to reach more people through the new online marketplace AgoraNatura.

The project area is located in the district of Osnabrück and supports that also for insects like bees, bumblebees and butterflies a high-quality habitat is maintained within arable land. A nectar-rich flowering mixture with 11 different plants is sown, which ensures a very long and colourful flowering period. Purple, yellow, white, red, pink and blue, the flowering meadow is to extend over five months and also remain undisturbed through the winter. Field birds, the pheasant found there and hares can also benefit from the habitat integrated into the field.

The online marketplace AgoraNatura sees itself as an independent mediation platform www.agora-natura.de and offers quality-checked and transparently visible nature conservation projects in Germany. Getting involved in nature conservation privately or as a company has never been so easy.

AgoraNatura is Germany's first online marketplace for certified nature conservation projects.

Since October 2020, AgoraNatura has enabled anyone who manages land and wants to implement a nature conservation project to finance it via crowdfunding or through partnerships with companies. Private investors and companies can specifically promote biodiversity and nature services through the purchase of nature conservation certificates. The price of the project is determined by the provider. In order to ensure the ecological impact of the projects, each project is externally audited by the Natureplus-Standard certified.

AgoraNatura emerged from a research and development project with partners from nature conservation and agriculture. Since July 2021, the marketplace has been run as a project of the Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) e.V. managed. The spin-off as an independent organisation is planned for 2022. Further information can be found at www.agora-natura.de.
